with implant patient Iain Cotterill
My first consultation with Dr Nasser Syed made me feel very relaxed and I was confident I was going to receive the best treatment possible. He explained the stages of my treatment and introduced me to Professor Julian Yates.
I was given a few leaflets and a bespoke treatment plan to read and digest, this went into details of my proposed treatment.
The team worked together and removed what was left of my damaged tooth, an implant was placed and a temporary denture was used to hide the gap. This appointment was very straightforward and not painful at all.
Professor Yates and Dr Syed were both very reassuring and I didn’t feel a thing, I didn’t even feel the tooth come out...
Depending on the level of damage or the number of missing teeth you have, dental implants can successfully replace single or multiple teeth.
Each implant is held firmly in position by a titanium screw that is inserted securely into the jawbone, and achieves the same function as a tooth root.
This bond between implant and jaw strengthens as the bone grows around the implant, fixing it firmly in place.
By following your personalised treatment plan and attending regular maintenance appointments, your dental implants should last as long and perform as well as healthy natural teeth do.
